This attractive studio portrait is almost intact, but the

surface is badly damaged by cracking, creasing, and water

stains. The photograph does contain quite a few different

textures even though the studio background is really quite

a sparsely furnished set piece. A variety of different techniques

were used to rebuild the picture without losing any of its period look. The surface is starting to lift away from the cardboard backing around the edges which causes some distortion to the image, but this is fixed before a close cleaning and digital surface repair is undertaken.

The restored picture now stands up well to close examination as even the smallest of imperfections have been seemlessly removed.
