High Fashion in 1930
At first glance the original photograph may not look too bad, but enlarged it clearly shows its many flaws, these have to be removed before being coloured with gently blended layers.
This beautifully posed portrait really deserves to be enlarged and framed. It's original condition shows the hundreds of scratches and marks that will only become clearer at a larger size. The photograph has a classic studio portrait countryside backdrop which adds much to the overall image, but this has to be as carefully repaired as the main subject.
Restoring the original picture to the highest standard is essential before the coloured layers are added, so every imperfection needs to be removed.
Coloured with gently blending layers the finished portrait becomes a rich deep image with much more impact than the original sepia photograph.
